The idea of whole food plant based diet being healthy is known and there are studies proving it superior to regular Western diet. However, Greger proceeds to criticize other approaches (healthy omnivore diet,.) supporting his claims with some rather cherry picked studies (ie his claims that fish consumption doesn't provide any health benefits). What is your opinion My family. Compared to the rest of the population id say we might be referred to as healthy. We cook and eat most of our meals at home, no one in my family is overweight except for me, we always have fresh fruits and vegetables, we never drink soda, my kids eat sweets but it's as rare compared to other families, we eat whole meal and organic foods when we can, we eat fish, drink plenty of water etc. Where we fall down is that we eat meat and cheese and fats. My wife is a vegetarian If so, please share your meals (pictures, descriptions, logs, etc.) below! :) i'm struggling to know what the heck to eat and i'm determined to increase my micronutrient intake. Hi all! I’m very new here. I have been doing a lot of research about food and red meats. I am in utter disgust at the way meat is raised and processed. And not to forget the fact that it produces so much plaque in the arteries thereby increasing chances of heart problems. I want to transition to a plant based diet and need some guidance. How can I start? My meat consumption was about 6 days a week. What can I do to transition into a different this diet and lifestyle. LINK TO ARTICLE: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-not-to-die-review#section1 (https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-not-to-die-review#section1) I have been transitioning to a WFPB diet and think it's one of the healthiest ways to eat, however, I get suspicious when I see overtly one-sided reporting towards anything. I'd much rather follow a balanced and honest advocacy instead of being a part of an echo chamber that just consists of cheerleading and confirmation bias. I totally agree with the sentiment vegans have, and I would love to learn how to be one. I just started making decent cash, and would like to figure out exactly what I need to eat and supplement with. I love exercising, so anything that will help replace the vitamins and minerals for hardcore exercise would be great. Also if you guys know of any easy/moderate cooking recipes/cook book references for great vegan food that would be awesome! Are there any foods or drinks that I should avoid I’m not currently calling myself a vegan, but after seeing Cowspiracy and what the health I’ve thought of it. I just watched Dominion after work and.I really want to make the change. I haven’t drank milk due to lactose intolerance and or alllergy (can’t afford a test atm) and back in February I stopped all dairy products cold Turkey. Made me feel far better, so I was curious what else I could cut out. I think I can do it. I already go a few days at a time without meat atm, eating I run track in high school currently and I’m looking to try to increase my overall athleticism. I’ve integrated a few new things into my routine but I haven’t really touched my diet at all so far. I already eat really healthy because my mom is a runner as well so most meals are cooked at home and I never eat fast food. I’m seriously considering switching up my diet to eliminate animal products because I’ve heard it has many health benefits. It’s a little intimidating because I already can’t. Dr. Greger no longer recommends baking potatoes due to high levels of acrylamide that are carcinogenic. Same goes for nuts & tofu. Have the other plant based doctors discussed this? I'd love to see their opinions but don't follow them too closely. I'll probably not give these up. but minimize my consumption of them but figured For all of last year and this year I have been suffering from a bacterial infection that causes pain and has not responded to 4 different rounds of antibiotics. I plan to go full Whole Foods plant based no oil and limited salt. This infection has caused chronic pain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and no doctor up until now has done anything to truly alleviate or help besides NSAIDs. With that being said I have for the most part given up on the healthcare system and plan to tackle this all throu.
